Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Mentoring Program 2011
The Law Society of Western Australia and it’s Aboriginal Lawyers Committee are seeking Expressions of Interest from practitioners who are interested in mentoring an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander law student in 2012. The students will be from one of the Western Australian Universities.
In particular, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander legal practitioners are encouraged to apply to be mentors because of the great benefits this offers to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Mentors should be aware that they are required to participate in a two hour training session with the Program Facilitator which focuses on the skills necessary to developing a mentoring relationship.
If you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander law student you are also encouraged to contact the Society to register your interest in participating in the mentoring program.
Please contact Policy Lawyer, Lillian Makinda by email at lmakinda@lawsocietywa.asn.au or by telephone on (08) 9322 7877 to express your interest.
