Dr Christopher Kendall,  President
Chris is a Barrister at John Toohey Chambers, specialising in intellectual property law. 

Chris was educated at Queen's University (Kingston) and the University of Michigan.  Before joining the Bar, he practised as a commercial lawyer in Perth and Toronto, Canada. Chris was formerly a law professor and Dean of Law at Murdoch University, Director of the Asia Pacific Intellectual Property Law Institute and a Commissioner with the Law Reform Commission of Western Australia.  He was recently appointed a Commissioner for the Insurance Commission of Western Australia.

Craig Slater, Senior Vice President
Craig is a Barrister at Francis Burt Chambers and practices in Commercial Law, Equity, Trade Practices and Corporations Law.

In addition to his role on the Society’s Council, Craig is also the convenor of the Quality Practice Standard committee and a member of the Ethics Committee.

Craig graduated from the University of Western Australia and has worked at Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Lovells (London), ASIC and Phillips Fox. In 1995 he joined Blake Dawson and worked mainly on the Bell litigation. During the Bell trial he joined Francis Burt Chambers and was counsel for the liquidator.

Konrad de Kerloy, Vice President
Konrad is a Partner at Freehills and a senior member of the national Litigation team, specialising in commercial litigation and corporate insolvency (both contentious and non-contentious) for the past 25 years.

Konrad's practice ranges from banking and contractual disputes, contentious insolvency and corporate restructuring, professional negligence and reviews and disputes involving governmental departments and agencies.

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

Pamela Hass, Treasurer

In June 2011, Pamela moved from the university sector to a new role as Principal Legal Counsel, Legal and Commercial Strategy with the WA Department of State Development.

Prior to June, Pamela held positions as University Secretary and Special Legal Counsel at The University of Western Australia, General Counsel and University Secretary at Macquarie University and General Counsel to Curtin University of Technology, where she established that University’s first in-house legal service.

Pamela was the first national president of the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association from WA, is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Board member of the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA).
