Does the Law Society issue practising certificates?
No, the Society does not handle the admission of legal practitioners or the issuing of practising certificates. All enquiries regarding admissions to practice in Western Australia, from interstate and overseas practitioners, must be directed to the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia. Visit the Legal Practice Board website for contact details and further information.

How do I view the members-only pages of the website?
Certain pages of this website are only accessible to Society members. Members can login to the members-only pages via the below process:

1. Enter your email address;
2. Enter your password. Your password has initially been set as a randomly generated series of letters and numbers. Once you have logged in, you can change your password by clicking "update details" then clicking on the "web acess" tab and following the prompts.
3. Select the 'LOGIN' button.

The Society recommends members change their password upon logging in for the first time. Should you experience any difficulties logging in, visit the Forgot Your Password? page to have your password emailed to you.

Is there a list of lawyers who will do pro bono work?
The Law Society of Western Australia does not have a list of lawyers who will do pro bono work. The Society does not have any power to compel a legal firm to assist with matters on a pro bono basis. The decision to do pro bono is completely at a legal firm’s discretion.
