Law Society Lawyer of the Year Awards

In the lead up to Law Week each year, the Law Society of Western Australia invites members of the Western Australian legal profession to submit entries to the Law Society Lawyer of the Year Awards.  

The categories are
• Lawyer of the Year (more than five years experience)
• Lawyer of the Year (less than five years experience)

2012 Law Week Media Awards

The Law Society of Western Australia and the Western Australian Bar Association invite members of the Australian media to submit entries to the 2012 Law Week Media Award.

This award will celebrate excellence in the reporting of law-related news articles in the local and national media.

Entries can be submitted from the print, TV, radio and online mediums. Three shortlisted finalists will be selected to attend the Law Week Luncheon on Friday, 18 May 2012 where the winner will be announced. The winner will be presented with a framed certificate from the Law Society of Western Australia and the Western Australian Bar Association.

Print entries must be submitted as PDF versions of the final articles and digital entries must be submitted on CD/DVD or via email as a WMV, WMA, AVI or similar digital file format for easy viewing on desktop PCs.

Attorney-General's Community Service Law Award 

The Attorney General's Community Service Law Award is presented annually to a local legal practitioner carrying out pro bono work.

The award recognises legal practitioners who volunteer their time and legal expertise free of charge or at a discounted rate to help others in the community.

Legal practitioners can be nominated by legal practices, practitioners or community organisations.

The Attorney General presents the award as part of Law Week, organised by the Law Society of Western Australia.
