Welcome to the YLC section of the Law Society of Western Australia website.

The Young Lawyers Committee works for all law students and lawyers in their first five years of practice or under the age of 35 years. To get the full benefit of what YLC can offer you, membership of the Law Society of Western Australia is required.

This YLC section of the Society website contains information about YLC events and CPD, the YLC Committee and its working groups, as well as how to get involved in them.

The YLC runs a number of events and services for young lawyers across diverse areas.

Support

  • Graduate Telephone Advisory Service – A panel of practitioners willing to assist graduates with matters pertaining to their employment
  • Graduate Clearing House - The Society provides a clearing house facility for graduates who have not yet accepted an offer of articles in the graduate recruitment period
  • LawCare(WA) - A range of initiatives by the Society to support the mental health and wellbeing of members. The initiative includes professional, confidential and free counselling and information services to support members. As part of the service, members can access up to three free counselling sessions and a range of online information resources.
