Legal Aid Campaign Panel Forum

The Law Society of Western Australia is hosting a panel discussion as part of the Law Council of Australia’s national Legal Aid Matters campaign.

The Legal Aid Matters campaign calls on the Commonwealth Government to increase funding to Legal Aid Commissions to ensure access to justice and reverse impending cuts to vulnerable individuals.

Be afraid without Legal Aid’s panel includes speakers from the judiciary, the legal profession, Community Legal Centres and the Western Australian Bar Association. Elizabeth Needham, President, Law Society of Western Australia, will chair the session.

Panellists include:

  • The Hon Justice Robert Mazza, Supreme Court of Western Australia
  • Helen Creed, Executive Director, Community Legal Centres Association (WA)
  • Irina Cattalini, Chief Executive Officer, Western Australian Council of Social Service Inc
  • Matthew Howard SC, Chair, Mental Health Law Centre (WA) and President of the Western Australian Bar Association.

Refreshments will follow the panel discussion.
