A significant number of Australians suffer from eating disorders and poor body image. It is crucial that more is done to address this issue – can Body Image Law help?
Body Image Law is a developing area of law, arising from a response to public outcry over unrealistic advertising of ‘ideal’ bodies. This can trigger body dissatisfaction and translate into dangerous behaviours and in some cases, eating disorders.
Dr Marilyn Bromberg will discuss current information regarding eating disorders and poor body image generally, in addition to whether law may be the answer.
