Get your points across the first three competencies in one session. This event is tailored for lawyers and the issues faced managing your practice and interacting with clients.
Topics covered include:
Competency 1: 7 Strategies to survive and thrive in a new decade
There’s no denying that we’re in an age of disruption in the legal profession. The old, established way of practising law is being questioned and rejected by both lawyers and clients. To thrive in today’s market, firms need to deliver legal services in innovative ways, creating true value for their clients. But for all the talk about why we should change, there’s not so much practical advice about how to do it. This session explores 7 practical strategies you can adopt now to position your law firm for success in this rapidly changing market.
Competency 2: Reducing the risks of miscommunication
Why is it that Communication failures remain a significant cause of claims and complaints against lawyers? This session will enhance your understanding of what really goes wrong and provide practical techniques for becoming more effective at listening, asking and explaining.
Competency 3: Everyday Ethics
Behaving ethically requires more than mere knowledge of conduct rules. This session will provide opportunities to check up on and enhance your ethical reasoning so as to reduce the risk of ethical lapses in everyday conduct. Ronwyn will cover frameworks for ethical reasoning and apply them to hypothetical scenarios.
This seminar is approved for the purposes of Law Mutual Risk Management training (2 points).
