Self-Talk
Cameron Aggs, Clinical Psychologist and Mindfulness Training Specialist, Mindful Therapy

It’s no secret that law is a demanding occupation and many lawyers can be prone to self-criticism and worry.  In this session Clinical Psychologist Cameron Aggs will present a framework for self-talk that will focus on balancing out your propensities for worry and rumination with new skills in self-talk that promotes a sense of resiliency, wellbeing, and ultimately career longevity. Cameron’s aim will be to inspire participants to rethink how they view their relationships with themselves and to improve capacity for realistic and affirming self-talk as a result.

Giving and receiving feedback
James Fletcher, Director, Alta Pete Consulting

What is feedback? It has been defined as “Information provided about performance, behaviour or task accomplishment used as a basis for improvement.”

All feedback should be constructive ie. helpful.  How can people get better if they don’t know where they’re falling down? Giving and receiving effective feedback ensures clarity around expectations, progress and builds stronger relationships.
