Dictation makes life as a lawyer so much easier. Being able to dictate, as well as type, gives you speed and options. For most people, it increases their writing speed by 3 times as compared to typing. However, in recent times, fewer and fewer lawyers have been dictating their written work. Why is this? Because we don’t actively teach our young lawyers how to dictate anymore and they rarely have the same access to typists that existed in the past. Given the considerable upgrades to voice recognition software in the last 5 years, we need to start teaching the skill of dictation again. In this seminar, hear from a Judge and Senior Practitioner about the benefits of dictation. You will learn about the options for using voice recognition software in your daily practice as a lawyer, with practical demonstrations for the drafting of letters, emails, pleadings and contracts. A comprehensive paper will be provided too, to help you practise your dictation back at the office.
