About the event

In an electronic trial the trial bundle is submitted electronically and the items within that electronic trial bundle may be viewed in court and tendered as evidence.  This seminar will  give guidance to practitioners who may be required, or who request, that a trial within the Supreme Court of Western Australia be conducted by way of an e-trial.  The seminar will include a demonstration of the technology available in the David Malcolm Justice Centre.

In particular, this seminar will discuss:

  • The Court’s case management system (ICMS).
  • The choice to be made – whether to use ICMS and the Court’s ‘in-house capability’, or out-source the conduct of the e-trial.
  • How to request an e-trial.
  • How to submit an electronic trial bundle and papers for the Judge.
  • The procedures during an e-trial.
  • The efficiencies created.
