This practical and interactive session will cover key concepts for effectively working with Government and Government lawyers. It is aimed at Government lawyers, and lawyers working with Government lawyers as their client.
The session will cover:
- working with Ministers and senior decision makers, or supporting clients who do so;
- an overview of the Government legal landscape, including the machinery of Government and how legal work adds the most value in this context;
- a range of techniques for Government lawyers to add maximum value for Ministers and senior officials in discharging their responsibilities and accountabilities.
- the skills needed to be influential in a Government context, including effective briefing and writing for Ministers and senior officers in the context of legislation and policy development.
