About the event
Join us for a panel discussion on the Equitable Briefing Policy which was adopted by the Directors of the Law Council of Australia on 18 June 2016.
Guest speaker, Nicole Duncan, Chief of People and Legal Officer at South32 will discuss South32’s decision to embrace the Policy and make it a specific requirement that panel law firms observe the Policy.
During this session Nicole will discuss:
- What drove her decision;
- How panel firms have responded;
- The pros/cons of adopting the Policy; and
- Any lessons learnt from adopting the Policy.
Following this, Nicole will be joined by two Law Firm Partners and a Barrister for an interactive discussion to raise awareness about the Policy and performance by entities who are signatories to the Policy and to discuss in a positive way how to drive real change including what actions are required by clients, law firms and barristers to support the change.
