This seminar by Lara Anstie, Managing Director, The Sanctuary, will discuss ethical issues in representing alleged perpetrators of family and domestic violence.  Issues that will be discussed include:

  • Identifying coercive controlling behaviours
  • Personal safety
  • The practitioner’s risks of being groomed to collude in systems abuse
  • The risks to the client if they dominate the practitioner
  • What to do if the client retaliates against you
  • What courts and the LSCC expects from practitioners in dealing with these clients
