Lawyer X/Informant 3838/EF, a former Australian legal practitioner and criminal barrister who purported to act as counsel for clients charged with criminal offences whilst simultaneously informing on those clients to police. The Australian community and legal profession have been shocked at the serious allegations that have arisen in relation to Lawyer X, including conduct which ended with a Royal Commission in the state of Victoria. Join Arthur Moses SC in Perth as he delivers a paper titled, “Lawyer X: Lessons for Every Practitioner”.

The paper will cover:

  1. What the High Court said about Lawyer X?
  2. The background to the establishment of the Royal Commission of the Management of Police Informants and the Recommendations which impact on the legal profession;
