A year has passed since the changes to the rules and procedures in the civil division of the Magistrates Court. This Session offers an opportunity for the bench and the profession to reflect on the changes, identifying successes and offering tips for improvements. Magistrate Darge will give a view from the bench on common issues and pitfalls followed by a paper from Fraser Robertson of the WA Bar on the perfect drafting of Form 32A Witness Statements. Magistrate Darge and a senior Magistrates Court Registrar will then be available to field questions and hear suggestions as to improvements that could be made to the operation of the Court.
Questions will be taken from the floor, time permitting, but practitioners are encouraged to submit their questions/comments in writing at least 7 days prior to the session to Frances.Pitt@justice.wa.gov.au
