Refugee matters: a seminar for lawyers and the public

Thursday 19th May, 2016 12:00 pm – Thursday 19th May, 2016 1:30 pm
The Law Society of Western Australia
Level 5, 160 St Georges Terrace PERTH

We hear a lot in the media about ‘asylum seekers’ and ‘refugees’ seeking grants of refugee status, but what are the actual legal criteria for determining who is (and who isn’t) a refugee?

This seminar looks at the state of current refugee matters, providing useful information for both lawyers and non-lawyers working with refugees.

Break down the role of the various courts and tribunals assessing refugee claims and receive first-hand advice for preparing refugee visas from those working in the front line.

A networking lunch will be provided.
