This session will provide a review of the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 (WA).

The incorporated association legal structure is unique and underpins the majority of organisations engaged in creating a more vibrant community.  In this seminar we will: 

  • consider the intriguing history behind the legislation; 
  • compare the nature of incorporated associations to that of companies limited by guarantee; 
  • discuss the pros and cons of model rules; 
  • explore the practical benefits of the 2015 legislation; and 
  • discuss the current review of legislation and possible areas of reform.
