Strategies for Being an Effective Supervisor

Tuesday 1st December, 2015 9:00 am – Tuesday 1st December, 2015 11:00 am
The Law Society of Western Australia
Level 5, 160 St Georges Terrace Perth

Supervising lawyers is a challenging task. Striking the balance between the hands off ‘sink or swim’ approach to supervision and micro management is extremely difficult.

Typically senior associates and new partners receive no training and most of us learn by trial and error and observation of others.

This seminar will give you the opportunity to:

  • gain practical tips specific to the legal environment
  • hear from experienced partners who have ‘been there and done that’
  • participate in group discussions on what it takes to be an effective supervisor

The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum for sharing the experiences of those who face the supervision challenge on a daily basis and to identify strategies that work.

Level: Advanced

  • 2 points Competency 1 Practice Management
