About the event

In January 2019 the Supreme Court introduced significant changes to the Consolidated Practice Directions dealing with evidence-in-chief at trial.  Generally, evidence will now be given orally and witness statements are replaced with witness outlines.

Key points to be discussed at this seminar include:

  • The amendments to the Consolidated Practice Directions
  • The use and abuse of witness statements
  • What is a ‘witness outline’
  • Hoped for benefits from the change in practice
  • Potential consequences for other areas of litigation practice and the conduct of trial
