This seminar will provide both an invaluable refresher and update on the issues that can arise in the context of franchising law, from the point of view of both franchisors and franchisees.

Tamra Seaton will discuss the new Franchising Code of Conduct, including new disclosure requirements, the introduction of penalties, the new good faith obligation, new requirements regarding marketing funds and dispute resolution and changes to the enforceability of restraints of trade.

Bill Keane will give a perspective from the Bar on the areas of good faith, misleading and deceptive conduct and unconscionable conduct within the franchising context.
