25 Francis Street Perth
Event opened by The Hon Peter Quinlan, Chief Justice of Western Australia.
Presented by Equal Opportunity Specialists (EEO), featuring professional actors and facilitated by Franca Sala Tenna.
This is one story of a legal workplace, it could be any legal environment, it could be yours.
Through this live theatre performance we will meet Stephanie, the newest addition to the law firm and Larry, the junior partner and high-achieving litigator. What happens next will provoke, challenge and make us all reflect.
The impact is heightened through live performance, with you as the audience, watching and assessing from the safety of your own seats. As the drama unfolds, if you choose, you get the opportunity to engage with the four characters before you, to call out bad behaviour and possibly even shape the narrative. Be drawn in to the complexity of communication and culture and how workplace sexual harassment can be allowed to flourish.
Facilitator Franca Sala Tenna is legally qualified and specialises in training that equips people to better understand harassment, discrimination and bullying and how to effectively manage these issues. What’s Our Story covers the legal content necessary for the training component of ‘all reasonable steps’ as outlined in s161 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), related to an employer’s vicarious liability. With the permission of the Legal Practice Board of WA, this event will attract double CPD points (3 points in total).
You will leave better informed about workplace sexual harassment, what to do about it and what the consequences are if a person crosses the line.
