Design and Communications Officer

Full Time

The Law Society of Western Australia is the peak professional association representing the legal profession across the State and a position has become available for a talented graphic designer to fill an exciting role in our Corporate Services team. This is a highly rewarding but challenging role in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment. The role provides designing across a range of collateral including print publications, advertisements, brochures and flyers as well as various digital channels, newsletters and web banners.

Selection criteria

The successful candidate will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Graphic Design
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a graphic design role
  • Exceptional visual design skills (please submit a strong portfolio that ¬†demonstrates your excellent creative design skills)
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Strong understanding of print and digital design requirements
  • Experience in video editing
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm and confidence in dealing with a wide stakeholder base
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Work well in a team environment and also autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience with managing multiple deadlines and stakeholders


  • Experience in a similar role within a Not-for-Profit membership organisation
  • Understanding of the legal sector
  • Experience in video editing
  • Proficiency in web development
