Full TimeThe SSO is the longest standing legal practice in Perth having been established in 1838. It became an independent sub-department in 2021 and has primary responsibility within the Government of Western Australia for ensuring the Government and all agencies are provided with comprehensive and high quality legal advisory and advocacy services.
We are searching for dynamic and experienced lawyers to join our busy legal practice as Assistant State Solicitors in:
• our Counsel Section who are responsible for the conduct behalf of the State of matters relating to the High Risk Serious Offenders Act 2020 (WA),
• our Civil Litigation Section, which is responsible for the management of a wide range of civil litigation and related matters on behalf of the State and its agencies.
The Office also invites applications from Junior Solicitors to join our cohort of junior lawyers with 1 to 2 years post-admission legal experience who perform and receive training on a wide range of legal work including in areas such as regulatory prosecutions, civil and public law litigation and advisings work.
