The Law Society congratulates Ms Belinda Lonsdale on appointment as a Judge of the District Court

The Law Society of Western Australia congratulates Ms Belinda Lonsdale on her appointment as a Judge of the District Court.

Ms Lonsdale holds the degrees Bachelor of Laws and Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Australia. She was admitted to practice in 1993. Ms Lonsdale was elected to the Western Australian Bar Association in 2003, and has practised as a barrister at Albert Wolff Chambers since then predominantly in the area of criminal law.

Ms Lonsdale was appointed as a Commissioner for Legal Aid in 2006. She is a past President of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association and a former member of the Council of both the Law Society and the Western Australian Bar Association.

Law Society President Alain Musikanth said, “Ms Lonsdale is an experienced and highly regarded senior member of the criminal bar.

“On behalf of all members of the Law Society, I warmly congratulate Ms Lonsdale on her appointment and wish her all the best for a successful and rewarding judicial career”, Mr Musikanth said.
