Law Society congratulates winners of the Attorney General’s Community Service Law Awards

The Law Society of Western Australia congratulates Sam Vandongen SC and HHG Legal Group, winners of the Attorney General’s Community Service Law Awards for an individual and organisation respectively.

The Attorney General, the Hon John Quigley MLA, presented the awards at the Law Society’s Law Week Breakfast this morning. The event launched Law Week 2017, which features more than 50 events taking place throughout the week and across Western Australia.

Law Society President Alain Musikanth said, “Both Sam Vandongen SC and HHG Legal Group are very worthy winners of this year’s Attorney General’s Community Service Law Awards. Mr Vandongen SC has been recognised for his pro bono work, particularly in acting as lead counsel for a man wrongly convicted of manslaughter. HHG Legal Group has a lengthy history of community involvement, including providing free legal advice clinics for the benefit of members of the public. The Law Society warmly congratulates both Mr Vandongen SC and HHG Legal Group.”
